ISO 9001:2008
It is the National Standards Body of Sri Lanka, established under the Bureau of Ceylon Standards Act No.38 of 1964. This Act was repealed and replaced by the Sri Lanka Standards Institution Act No. 6 of 1984. The Institution now functions under the Ministry of Science and Technology and is governed by the Minister in terms of the above Act.
ISO 22000
ISO 22000 creates a harmonized food safety standard that is accepted worldwide, which defines food safety management system requirements for companies that need to meet and exceed global food safety regulations. In 2001, the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) started the development of an auditable food standard building on HACCP’s role in food safety management systems in the food industry.

Mawbima Lanka Foundation is a “not for profit”, Limited Liability Association registered under the Companies Act No.22 of 1982. The association strongly believes that the objective of building a formidable and sustainable National Economy will only be achieved by strengthening the local industries which is directly attributed to consumption culture of the people. As such the strategic approach of this program is directed at creating to consumption culture where people are proud and give preference to consume locally manufactured products.
In this exercise accreditation of locally manufactured products will be used as a promotional tool and thereby build up the confidence of the people towards locally manufactured products. The key strategy is to launch a National level advertising and public relations campaigns and grass root level mass mobilization campaigns based on Patriotic Marketing Concepts.
